Lab inventory

See what your lab has, where it is kept and what needs attention

Import the inventory sheets you already keep, and see low, expiring and expired items marked on a map of your lab. Protocol drafts show stock beside their materials, and questions about stock are answered from the inventory.

Labels describe what your inventory records, not whether there is enough for a protocol.

What it does

One inventory for the whole lab, built from the sheets you already keep

  • One list, shared by every project

Reagents, instruments and consumables in one inventory, each with its catalogue and lot numbers, supplier, quantity and unit, location, expiry date and the level at which it counts as low.

  • Your lab, seen from above

Lay out your room once, with freezers, fridges, incubators and benches where they stand. Low, expiring and expired items are marked where their record says they are kept, and charts show how levels have changed over time.

  • Stock where you work

Protocol drafts label each material: in stock, low, expired, or no matching stock record. An answer about stock shows each value with where it came from.

Built to be trusted

What you can rely on

  • A new spreadsheet layout is approved by a person once, before anything imports.
  • Every change is kept: when it happened, and which import or edit made it.
  • Each value shows its origin date, and where you can see the source project, the file version and the cell.
  • Stock cards show the current inventory when you open an answer, and a question about a past date shows the inventory recorded on that date.
  • Deleting a spreadsheet removes the values it imported, with 30 days to restore them. Values set by hand stay.
  • A stock label describes what the inventory records, not whether there is enough for a protocol.

What it won’t do

  • Let the AI change a stock value: only people and your imports do.
  • Stop you accepting a draft because a material is low or expired: the label informs you, and you decide.
How it works

From start to finish in three steps

  1. 1

Import your sheets and lay out the room

Bring the inventory spreadsheets you already keep and approve how their columns are read. Then lay out your room once, so the map matches it.

  2. 2

    See what needs attention

Low, expiring and expired items are numbered on the map and listed beneath it, and you can add or correct any item by hand.

  3. 3

    See stock beside your work

Protocol drafts show stock labels beside their materials, and questions about stock show the matching inventory records. What to do about them is your decision.
