Protocol drafting

Protocols drafted from what your lab has actually run

Refresh a protocol, combine several or start from a goal. Every amount, reagent and setting comes from your lab’s records or a paper you uploaded, and anything missing is left for you to fill in.

No record

Each step shows its source, and the three flags need resolving before you accept the draft.

What it does

Draft a protocol from the runs your lab has done

  • Three ways to start

Refresh a protocol the lab has run, combine two or more, or draft a new one from a goal.

  • A familiar shape

Purpose, materials and equipment, safety and cautions, numbered steps, critical steps and pause points, expected results, troubleshooting and references.

  • Your history beside each step

Past failures, later run notes and changes sit beside the steps they affect, each linked to its source.

Built to be trusted

What you can rely on

  • Amounts, reagents, instruments and settings come from your records or your uploaded papers, with the source for each.
  • Reagents and instruments your lab has no record of are flagged.
  • Units that differ between runs are flagged.
  • Values from a paper are marked as not yet tried in your lab.
  • Anything written by the AI is clearly marked.
  • Your records’ own safety cautions appear with the steps they apply to.

What it won’t do

  • Invent an amount: a value it cannot find in your records is left blank for you.
  • Let a draft be accepted while something is still flagged.
How it works

From start to finish in three steps

  1. 1

Pick protocols or state a goal

Choose the protocol to refresh, the ones to combine, or describe what the new protocol must achieve.

  2. 2

    Check what is flagged

Settle each flag: a material with no record, a past failure, a unit mismatch, or a change from a later run to adopt or leave out.

  3. 3

    Accept and download

Keep the accepted draft as a version and download it with its references. Upload it back and it is marked as not yet run.
